We will establish an Academic Advisory Board for the project.
We would definitely like to link up with relevant research programs. Dissemination of project results is an essential element of all EU Leonardo da Vince Programme pilot projects.
ESUA
European
The ESUA is a project to establish a new pan-European school of architecture as a network between existing educational institutions, practitioners and NGOs The project has received funding from the European Union Leonardo da Vinci programme for a two year project to develop its curriculum and teaching methodology.
Students of a future school based on the project will be able to compose an education in architecture and urbanism based on modules taken at different existing institutions in different countries. The ESUA will not establish its own campus or hire a faculty. The school will focus on New Urbanist principles and architecture based on tradition and local identity.
The EU project is limited to development of a curriculom and structure. To establish educational programs and recruit students will be a separate project, starting hopefully in 2008, when the EU-funded project ends.
The project will have its "kick-off seminar" for all partners in Leeds, UK, November 11.
Folkeuniversitet, the Norwegian Association for Adult Learning, is the project promoter with resposibility for administration of the project, and has signed the contract with the EU. The other 13 partners will sign separate contracts with the promoter, based on an agreement on their tasks and a budget.

Over the next two years, we will hold five test short courses and charrettes, each lasting one or two weeks, involving an international student reference group and teachers from the partner organisations:
In Germany (Berlin) for urbanism,
In UK for planning and public participation based on the charrette method,
In Italy (Rome and Bari) for architectural design and history of architecture,
In Norway for building techniques,
In Romania for restoration and local development based on cultural heritage.
