Lecturing and Public Speaking

Michael Mehaffy has lectured in the US, Canada, Mexico, England, Scotland, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Sweden, India and Israel, among others. Venues have included the Royal College of Physicians, London, the American Institute of Architects conference in Bath, UK, the Technical University, Delft, the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, the University of Miami, US, the Royal Town Planning Institute, London, and many others.
Specific topics include sustainable urbanism, advanced research in urban design, urban coding, transit-oriented development, New Urbanism, "smart growth", pattern languages, and recent work of the architect and researcher Christopher Alexander. We also engage in short-term teaching on these topics. We are happy to discuss a customized presentation for your event.
